Former Assembly Member Beth Gaines has joined the Family Business Association of California (FBA) as Director of Membership. Gaines served in the Assembly from 2011 to 2016 and her husband, Ted, currently serves in the state Senate.
“With family businesses under siege in the Legislature this year, it is imperative that we grow our membership to be a stronger force at the Capitol,” stated Robert Rivinius, FBA Executive Director.
“Beth is very enthusiastic about FBA and is joining us at the perfect time. With legislation proposed this year to create an estate tax for California and other proposals to eliminate laws now helping family businesses transfer the business and property to future generations, this is an essential new capability for our association.”
Gaines said she was looking forward to helping strengthen FBA because she knows the problems family businesses face.
“As the owner of a small family business myself, I know first-hand the struggles family business owners in California face everyday. I look forward to growing FBA and continuing to fight on behalf of my fellow family business owners,” she said.
